How can we assist you?
A curated guide to Lura Studio’s philosophy, craftsmanship, and service.
The Studio & Craft
What defines Lura Studio's philosophy? +
We specialize in hand-sculpted textured wall art that emphasizes physical depth and wabi-sabi aesthetics. Unlike mass-produced prints, every Lura piece is 100% hand-sculpted using a proprietary blend of mineral clay and heavy impasto. We focus on "Tactility"—creating art with real physical depth that changes with the light.
What makes Lura Studio art unique? +
Unlike mass-produced prints, every Lura Studio piece is 100% hand-sculpted using a proprietary blend of mineral clay and heavy impasto. We focus on "Tactility"—creating art with real physical depth that changes with the light.
Are your paintings 3D printed or hand-painted? +
They are strictly hand-painted. Our team uses palette knives and modeling paste to build 3D relief textures manually. No 3D printing or digital reproduction is involved in our core collections.
Will the heavy texture crack or flake over time? +
We use a proprietary studio blend of modeling paste, natural plaster, and acrylic polymers reinforced with a flexible binding agent. This formulation ensures that even our deepest relief textures remain stable and crack-resistant despite temperature changes. Each piece is finally sealed with a museum-grade UV varnish to ensure longevity.
How do I clean or dust high-relief art? +
Due to the raw, tactile nature of the relief, we recommend a "dry clean" approach. Use a soft, compressed air duster (commonly used for photography equipment) or a clean, dry watercolor brush to gently sweep away dust from the crevices. Avoid water, damp cloths, or chemical cleaners, as they may alter the matte finish of the plaster.
Are the paintings exactly the same as the photos? +
No two pieces are identical. LURA Studio embraces the philosophy of Wabi-Sabi—finding beauty in imperfection. Since every ridge and texture is applied by hand, there will be slight organic variations in the stroke and depth. This confirms that you possess an original studio work, not a machine print.
What is the best lighting for textured wall art? +
Texture thrives on shadow. We strongly recommend "Raking Light" (directional light hitting the surface from above or the side) rather than direct frontal lighting. A warm track light (2700K-3000K) or a wall washer installed above the artwork will dramatically enhance the depth, drama, and "Luminance" of the piece.
Can I install these pieces in a bathroom? +
It depends on the zone. While our works are sealed, plaster-based mixed media is hygroscopic (it can breathe). We do not recommend installing them in full bathrooms with showers or high humidity. However, they are perfectly safe for powder rooms (half-baths) or well-ventilated spa areas.
Do these artworks need to be framed? +
Our works are gallery-wrapped, meaning the canvas texture continues around the edges for a clean, modern look. They can be hung as-is for a raw, minimalist aesthetic. However, adding a "Floating Frame" (specifically in oak or walnut) can add a layer of refinement and substantiality for larger spaces.
Do you offer custom sizes or colors? +
Yes. Lura Studio specializes in large-scale commissions for specific architectural requirements. If you need a specific dimension (up to 80 inches) or a custom color match (e.g., specific Benjamin Moore or Farrow & Ball tones), please contact us via our Trade Program page.
How do you ship large textured art safely? +
We take packaging seriously. Standard sizes are shipped in reinforced, puncture-resistant heavy-duty boxes with corner protection. Oversized works (over 40 inches) and ceramic forms are crated in custom-built wooden crates to ensure they arrive in pristine condition, anywhere in the world.
Orders & Shipping
How long will it take to receive my order? +
Since every LURA piece is hand-textured and finished to order, we do not ship immediately. Please allow 5-10 business days for our artisans to create and dry your piece before dispatch. Once shipped, delivery typically takes 3-7 business days depending on your location.
Do you offer free shipping? +
We offer complimentary shipping on all domestic orders over $300. For international orders, shipping is calculated at checkout based on weight and destination.
Will I be charged customs or import duties? +
For international orders (outside the US/UK), import duties and taxes may apply upon arrival. These fees are determined by your local customs office and are the responsibility of the recipient. LURA Studio cannot predict or cover these costs.
What is your return policy? +
We want you to love your art. If you are not completely satisfied, you may initiate a return within 14 days of delivery. The artwork must be returned in its original packaging and perfect condition. Please note that return shipping costs are the responsibility of the customer unless the item is defective.
Can I cancel or change my order? +
Because our team begins preparing the canvas shortly after purchase, we only accept cancellations or changes within 24 hours of order placement. Please email support@lurastudio.com immediately if you need to make changes.
What if my art arrives damaged? +
We use reinforced, gallery-grade packaging, but accidents can happen. If your piece arrives damaged, please take photos of both the box and the artwork and contact us within 48 hours. We will arrange for a priority replacement or a full refund immediately.
What payment methods do you accept? +
We accept all major credit cards (Visa, Mastercard, Amex), PayPal, Apple Pay, and Google Pay. We also offer installment payment options via Shop Pay / Klarna at checkout.
I am an interior designer. Do you have a trade program? +
